Human Organ Transplant Centre in Bhaktapur has now started angiography and angioplasty services.
Angiography or arteriography is a medical imaging technique used to visualize the inside, or lumen, of blood vessels and organs of the body, with the particular interest in the arteries, veins, and the heart chambers. And angioplasty is surgical repair or unblocking of a blood vessel, especially a coronary artery.
Senior cardiologist Dr. Yadav Dev Bhatta along with 10 members in his team gave free services to their first two patients; Bimala Neupane, 50, of Suryabinayak Municipality-4, and Astalal Dangol, 37, of Madhyapur Thimi.
Following the successful operation, Dr. Bhatta said, “The number of heart patients is on the rise day by day. The service should be expanded to other districts too.”
