The Vivo V40 features a glass rear panel and frosted side rails. It comes in Nebula Purple and Stellar Silver, but if you’re in India, there’s also a Ganges Blue color option. The phone is rated both IP68 and IP69 dust and water-resistant.
The phone is pretty slim at just 7.58mm thick and weighs around 190 grams, so it feels light in the hand. On the back, there’s a circular camera housing that’s set on a pill-shaped island. You can find the Zeiss logo on the camera glass, and there’s also an Aura Light and what looks like a laser autofocus module.
The side rails of the device have the power button and volume rockers on the right side, a light sensor at the top, and the SIM card slot, charging port, and mono speaker grille at the bottom.
