The global COVID-19 pandemic has completely turned the tables on everything that was once considered normal. The government has extended the nationwide lockdown for the third time in Nepal until April 15th to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Under these unwilling circumstances, all non-essential shops are closed. Most of the businesses are mandated to work from home during this period of social distancing. Because of this, users will not be able to go to physical stores to avail of their warranty benefits in the event of repair or damage.
As part of the company’s response to this crisis, Samsung is offering an extended warranty to all customers in Nepal whose warranty expires during the period coronavirus lockdown. The company has extended the warranty for all those affected till May 20, 2020. This applies to all of Samsung’s product portfolio which includes phones, tablets, smartwatches, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and TVs.
Samsung also mentions that the extended warranty is only going to be valid for products whose warranty is expiring between March 24, 2020, and April 20, 2020.
Apart from Samsung, Vivo And Oppo also announced a similar warranty extension on all of their smartphones, earlier this week. It might not look much but warranty extension is a big relief for consumers. Every other manufacturer out there should consider something similar.
Amidst lockdown, the launch of Samsung M21 and M31 in Nepal has also been delayed. Hopefully, both of these phones will launch immediately after the lockdown.
Samsung has mentioned about their warranty extension on their social media handles as well. So, if you have any further queries, you may ask them directly on their social media channels.
