Currently, Xiaomi is offering a price cut on the Poco M5. Until May 31, 2023, the Poco M5 price in Nepal is Rs. 19,999 for the base 4/64GB variant while the higher 6/128GB variant is priced at Rs. 22,999. The phone is available at mobile retail stores all over Nepal.

Previously, its price was Rs. 20,499 for the 4/64GB variant and Rs. 23,999 for the 6/128GB variant.

Poco M5 Overview

Design

The Poco M5 has a dual-tone finish on the back. The phone has a black camera bar at the back that spans the width of the device The rest of the plastic has a leather-like texture.

This has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. Above the power button, the right side also has volume buttons. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IR blaster.

Latest Mobile Prices

The speaker, USB-C port, and microphone are all located on the bottom side of the device. The device comes in three colours: Black, Green, and Yellow.

Display

The display of the Poco M5 measures 6.58 inches diagonally. It’s an IPS LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution and up to 90Hz refresh rate support.

It has a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz and a maximum brightness of 500nits under high brightness mode (HBM).

The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. There is a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera.

Hardware

The Poco M5 is the second smartphone in Nepal to be equipped with the new MediaTek Helio G99 SoC. The Vivo V25e was the first to have one in Nepal.

The Helio G99 is an efficient processor built on 6nm process technology. It integrates two ARM Cortex-A76 CPU at up to 2.2GHz, six ARM Cortex-A55 cores at up to 2.0GHz, and a Mali G57 GPU.

The phone is available in two variants based on memory configurations. The base model has 4GB LPDDRX RAM and 64GB UFS 2.2 internal storage, while the higher variant comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

Camera

The Poco M5 has a triple rear camera setup consisting of a main 50MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture lens. The other cameras are depth and macro cameras, both of 2MP.

The front has a 5MP selfie camera housed in the waterdrop notch. Both the front and back cameras are capable of shooting up to 1080p video at 30fps.

Battery and OS

Under the hood, the phone is powered by a 5000mAh battery. Combined with the power-efficient G99 chipset, the battery should give a long battery life.

Although the phone comes with a 22.2W charger in the box, the device only supports 18W fast charging.
