However, the international specs are a bit overpowered for the Nepali market. Taking that into consideration, Omoda Nepal will customize the motor pack to be less than 100kW to better suit the market and budget needs. Other changes may also be made.
Omoda 5 EV will be the first from Chery Omoda to enter the Nepali market.
It was introduced in Auto Shanghai in April 2023.
What is the Price of Omoda 5 EV in Nepal?
The Omoda 5 EV price is yet to be revealed. Nevertheless, the price range will likely be around Rs. 60 Lakhs to Rs. 1.20 Crore, especially considering its specs and features on offer.
This is pure speculation at this moment.

Omoda 5 EV Overview
Being the newly launched product, the details surrounding the electric is still scarce. Nevertheless, we have managed to provide an overview of the product based on its international specs.
Design
Omoda 5 EV is based on the ICE version of the Omoda 5. However, it has gone through significant changes in its electric avatar.
It is an art in motion, especially with its futuristic silhouette.
The front portion carries T-shaped LED DRLs with Dynamic Turn Indicators. It possesses a separate LED Headlamp for bright visibility.
Moreover, it misses out on any kind of aggressive grille. Instead, it gets a closed body-colored panel.

Omoda 5 EV is powered by a 165kW Electric Motor. It generates a max power of 224PS and a max torque of 400Nm.
It is supported by a 61kWh Lithium-Ion battery, claiming a range of 450KM.
As previously mentioned, the 165kW electric motor is only available in international markets. Omoda Nepal plans to customize the motor and battery specifications to better fit the budget and market demands of Nepal.
There is support for both AC and DC charging. Interestingly enough, the DC Charging can charge the SUV up to 80% in just 35 minutes.
Companies like BYD Nepal and MG Nepal have customized their EVs to better suit the market needs. So, that can happen with the Omoda 5 EV as well.

Being a brand new product, the details around the Omoda 5 EV are still very scarce. So, the exact pricing details and spec details are still unknown.
The rival for the Omoda 5 EV will depend on its specs.
If it comes with a motor less than 100kW, then it will rival BYD Atto 3 and MG ZS EV. However, if the motor will be 165kW (as in the international market), then it rivals the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6.
So, the pricing factor will likely be in that range.
