Nepal Telecom(NTC) is soon going to introduce integrated real-time billing system.
After upgrading from its billing system, the landline Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) phones will also be made prepaid. This means that telephones too will need to be recharged like mobile phones. It is unclear whether NTC will provide the option of choosing between pre-paid and post-paid.
After the integration of the real-time billing system, there will be more value added services like single recharge card for all, family packages, parental control etc. for the users. NTC can also use a single identity for all services making it so that one person need not register multiple times for different services.
NTC making its landline services prepaid will solve the problem of pending money. There will no longer be any non-payment cases. With pre-paid services, landline will be cut off once the credit amount is spent.
