Ncell, one of Nepal’s leading Telecom service provider, reported reaching 6.8 million GB data consumption in the second quarter of 2017 reports, My Republica.
The Malaysian company Axiata gave its financial statement for the second quarter (April-June) of 2017. It stated that Ncell data use increased by more than two and a half times as compared to last year.
Last year, in the second quarter of 2016, the data consumption was only 2.7 million GB. Explaining this rise, the report said, “Data consumption has improved because of the launch of 4G service in June. Revenue from data has increased by 16.9 percent.”
Data consumption per user has also increased. Each Ncell subscriber uses 341 MB per month as compared to 160 MB in 2016.
Besides that, the report also stated that data revenue has 18 percent share in the total revenue that Ncell mobilized in the second quarter of 2017. Also, 44 percent of Ncell’s 15.6 million subscribers use mobile data.
