MG Astor, Super Variant, Available for Bookings in Nepal!

MG Astor is currently open for bookings in Nepal.

Paramount Motors, the authorized distributor of MG vehicles in Nepal, plans to expand its portfolio further by introducing the fifth new MG SUV.

MG Astor is an all-new SUV, packed with modern styling with many interesting features. However, the introduced variant misses out on an AI-enabled assistant.

Interestingly enough, MG Nepal has priced the SUV at a much more aggressive price than initially expected. It should come as an enticing offering for those looking for a neatly priced family car.

Paramount Motors has been busy for the last few months. The company recently unveiled two variants of the 99kW MG ZS EV and Maxus T60 luxury pickup.

With that said, let’s take a quick look at the MG Astor in Nepal and its key specifications.

MG Astor Overview

Design

MG Astor tries to impress with its striking and elegant contours.

It resembles every other MG vehicle, especially with its signature MG elements and athletic details.

The front section sports Full LED Hawkeye Headlamps with LED DRLs. Moreover, the center Bold Celestial Grille demands attention with its eye-catching patterns.

Interestingly enough, the bonnet gets a sloped styling reminiscent of other MG siblings.

The side profile is relatively simple. However, there are a few elements for an added premium feel.

It gets Turbine-Inspired Machined Alloys along with Chromed finish at the windows.

Finally, the rear section gets an attractive LED Tail Lamp with Chrome Accentuated Dual Exhaust Design.

Unfortunately, this specific variant misses out on AI Personal Assistant.

Performance

MG Astor is powered by a 1.5L, 1498cc, 4-Cylinder, Petrol engine. It generates a max power of 110 PS at 6000rpm and a max torque of 144 Nm at 4400rpm.

Moreover, it is mated to either a 5-speed MT or CVT transmission with a 48-liter fuel tank.

MG Astor is available in two engine configurations: 1.5L VTi-TECH and 1.4L 220 TURBO.

However, the Nepali market will only get the 1.5L Engine option for now. Moreover, MG Nepal will likely introduce variants based on transmission options.

By skipping out on the Turbo option, MG Astor has successfully maintained an aggressive price point.

The suspension duties are handled by MacPherson Strut at the front and Torsion Beam at the rear.

The dimensions are 4323mm in length, 1809mm in width, and 1650mm in height. And, the wheelbase sits at 2582mm.

MG Astor comes with 205mm of ground clearance. Moreover, the kerb weight sits at 1245kg.

There are four variants available in the Indian market: Style, Super, Smart, and Sharp. MG Nepal has played it safe for now by not overpowering the market with all variants.

While the “Super” variant is packed with stylistic aesthetics and safety features, it misses out on an AI-enabled Personal Assistant.

Perhaps, many would consider the AI features to be a bit too gimmicky. Nevertheless, MG Nepal should have at least offered it as an option.
