All-New Mahindra Scorpio-N Launched: Nepal’s Favorite SUV Daunts a New Avatar!

All-new Mahindra Scorpio-N is now officially available in Nepal.

Agni Group, the authorized distributor of Mahindra vehicles in Nepal, has launched its brand new Scorpio simultaneously alongside the Indian and South African markets.

The launch event was held in Soaltee Hotel, Kathmandu. It highlighted Mahindra’s history, accomplishments, and future prospects.

However, Mahindra Nepal made a surprising unveiling of the highly-popular Scorpio. It is an all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N packed with next-generation design, features, and engine.

Mahindra Scorpio-N price in Nepal will be revealed within the next two weeks.

Design

Mahindra Scorpio-N sports Mahindra’s new visual identity. It also marks the very first debut of the new ‘Twin Peaks’ logo.

The logo proudly sits on a new full-width grille with a chrome talon finish.

The front section comes with the signature Double Barrel LED Headlamp. It gets a sting like DRLs that encases the fog lamps.

Adding to the contemporary design, it sports Sequential LED turn indicators.

The side profile is reminiscent of the older generation Scorpio. It still has the tall boxy stance, but Mahindra has introduced a few curves here and there.

Interestingly enough, the side section feels the most familiar to the older gen Scorpio. However, there are few interesting elements that maximize its premium feel.

It comes with metal-finished dual rails, chromed door handles, and a Scorpio sting-inspired chromed window line.

The rear section sports a tall tail lamp with a few chromed badges.

Moving on the inside, the interiors come with the utmost premium elements. It includes coffee-black leatherette upholstery, body-hugging seats, and more.

Additionally, the Mahindra Scorpio-N will be available in seven different colors: Silver, Green, Red, Gold,, Black, White, and Canyon.

Performance

Mahindra Scorpio will be available in two engine configurations: 2L Turbo Petrol mStallion and 2.2L Diesel mHawk.

The 2L TGDi mStallion Petrol engine generates a max power of 200PS at 5000rpm and a max torque of 380 Nm at 1750-3000rpm.

Similarly, the 2.2L CRDi mHawk Diesel engine generates a max power of 175PS at 3500rpm and a max torque of 400Nm at 1750-2750rpm.

It is mated to 6-speed Automatic or Manual transmission with a 57-liter fuel tank capacity.

Both engine configurations are available in AT, MT transmission with an option for 4×4.

Additional Details

The suspension duties are handled by Double Wishbone with Coil at the front and Pentalink with WATT’s Linkage at the rear.

The dimensions are 4662mm in length, 1917mm in width, and 1857mm in height. And, the wheelbase sits at 2750mm.

Mahindra Scorpio-N gets a 187mm ground clearance. Moreover, the kerb weight is 1825kg.

Interestingly enough, the second and third rows are easily foldable with 786 liters of boot space.

As for the pricing, the Mahindra Scorpio-N price in Nepal is still under discussion. So, it is still unclear on total variants making their way into the Nepali market.

Nevertheless, there are a total of six different trims available in the Indian market. And, each trim level is available across multiple variants.

Mahindra Nepal has clarified that both engine configurations will be available for the Nepali market.

Hence, the company will likely bring most trim levels across selected variants.

The second generation Scorpio is priced around Rs. 55.50 Lakhs to Rs. 75.75 Lakhs. Since the newest iteration brings in drastic new improvements, there should be  a considerable price increment.

Again, this is just pure speculation. We will know for sure in 15 days’ time.

Mahindra Scorpio-N will compete against Tata Safari and Hyundai Tucson.
