Honda SP 125 is launching soon in Nepal.
Syakar Trading, the authorized distributor of Honda bikes in Nepal, showcased its BS6 offerings at the NADA Auto Show 2023.
Among them, the company showcased the much-awaited Honda SP 125.
Honda SP 125 is the spiritual successor to the Shine SP. However, it brings forth a brand-new design, practical features, and refined performance to the table.
What is the Price of the Honda SP 125 in Nepal?
Honda SP 125 price in Nepal will be more than Rs. 3 Lakhs. It will be available in Drum only and Front Disc variant.
Honda Shine SP BS4 is available at Rs. 2.76 Lakhs to Rs. 2.86 Lakhs (as of this writing).
Honda SP 125 being a premium offering with more features than before, will have an introductory price more than the outgoing Shine SP.
It is Honda’s response to growing competition in the 125cc premium segment.
While the launch is yet to happen, the Honda SP 125 showcase at the NADA Auto Show officially confirmed its upcoming arrival in the Nepali market.
Moreover, the launch is expected in late 2023 and early 2024.

Honda SP 125 Overview
Design
Honda SP 125 is built on the Honda Shine DNA. However, Honda has dialed up the aggressive factor considerably.
It has a bulkier profile thanks to its extended muscular tank design.
It includes the iconic Honda WIng emblem matched in combination with sportier graphics.
The front section comes with the all-new sharper LED DC Headlamp with a Black Cowl. It gets the 18-inch Stylish Split Alloy Wheels with a Wider Rear Tyre.
Other new elements include an Engine Start/Stop Switch, an Integrated Highbeam / Pass Switch, and an All-Digital Meter.

Whereas the familiar Shine setup like the 5-Step Adjustable Dual Shock, Chrome Muffler, and Seal Chain remain unchanged.
Interestingly enough, the rear profile has also been updated with Bolder Tail Lamp.
Honda SP continues on the familiar heritage while improving upon them at the same time.

Moreover, it is mated to a 5-speed Gearbox with an 11.2-liter fuel capacity.
Honda has updated the transmission to 5-speed and increased the fuel tank capacity by 0.7 liters.
It is equipped with the BS6-compliant Fuel Injection engine.
Following the latest norm, the SP 125 gets the Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) Technology, Silent Start with ACG, and Side Stand Engine Cut-Off.
Plus, the onboard Digital Cluster provides additional information like Real-Time Mileage, Distance to Empty, and Average Mileage.

Telescopic and Hydraulic Dual-Shock Absorbers handle suspension duties.

Both bikes are focused on being sportier 125cc commuters.
TVS Raider stands out for its segment-leading performance, features, and styling. However, the TVS Raider is still available in its Carburetor avatar for the Nepali market to keep things affordable.
In contrast, the Honda SP will bank on its reliability and brand history. If it gets the pricing right, then the battle between the two offerings will be interesting.
