The 128GB model of the Apple iPhone 11 has been restocked in Nepal, but it has become more expensive, with a price increase of Rs. 5,000.

The Apple iPhone 11 price in Nepal is now Rs. 89,990 (128GB). This is a price increase of Rs. 5,000 from its previous cost of Rs. 84,990. The iPhone can be bought in Nepal from authorized Apple stores.

The iPhone 11 debuted in Nepal along with the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max in 2019. Only the iPhone 11—which initially cost Rs. 1,15,000 (64GB)—from the series is currently available in Nepal.

Apple iPhone 11 Overview

Design

From the front, the iPhone 11 looks like any other recent iPhone with a big notch for the Face ID. The bezels are the same as on its predecessor iPhone XR.

The glass back has a square-shaped island for the dual-camera setup (the Pro models have a triple-camera setup). As opposed to the flat design of the recent iPhone 12 and 13, the iPhone 11 has a curvy design. The aluminium frame does not have any sharp edges.

It is rated IP68 for water resistance up to 2 meters for up to 30 minutes. Not surprisingly, the left of the iPhone has a mute switch and volume buttons, whereas the power button and a SIM slot are on the right. Likewise, a mic, lightning port, and the second speaker are on the bottom side.

Display

The iPhone 11 has the same screen found on the iPhone XR. It’s a 6.1-inch IPS LCD display with round corners. Apple calls it Liquid Retina HD display.

The display features Apple’s True Tone, which automatically adjusts the display’s white balance depending on the environment. It has a resolution of 828 x 1792 pixels (326 ppi). There is a huge notch on the top of the display.

Apple mentions that the display has a 1400:1 contrast ratio and 625 nits of typical max brightness. The screen is coated with fingerprint-resistant oleophobic film. And it supports DCI-P3 and Haptic Touch.

Hardware

The iPhone 11 is powered by Apple A13 Bionic chip. Apple claims that the chipset features up to 20 percent faster CPU and GPU than A12.

iOS Performance — Apple iPhone 11 Performance

The A13 is built on a 7nm+ process and features over 8.5 billion transistors. The Apple A13 Bionic chip has a hexa-core processor with two 2.65 GHz Lightning high-performance cores and four 1.8 GHz Thunder efficient CPU cores.

The phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64/128/256GB of NVMe storage.

Camera

The Apple iPhone 11 has an extra camera than the iPhone XR. In addition to a 12MP primary camera (with OIS), it now has a 12MP ultrawide camera as well. But it lacks a telephoto camera, which is available on the iPhone 11 Pro models.

The front has a 12MP selfie camera, up from 7MP. It now has a wider field of view with a 23 mm lens. Both the front and back cameras can shoot up to 4K video at 60fps.

This is the first iPhone to let users take video without switching out of Photo mode by simply holding the shutter button to start recording.

Battery and OS

Fueling the iPhone 11 is a 3110 mAh battery. It supports up to 20W fast charging. However, the charger is not provided in the box. The device also supports Qi wireless charging.

At the time of launch, the iPhone 11 used to come with iOS 13 out-of-the-box. Now, it comes with the latest iOS 15. Users should receive major upgrades for a few more years.

The Apple iPhone 11 was initially launched in 2019 at a starting price of Rs. 1,15,000. However, after the release of several newer iPhone models including the iPhone 12, 13, and 14 series, the price of the iPhone 11 has fluctuated with multiple increases and decreases. Currently, the price of the 128GB variant of the iPhone 11 in Nepal is Rs. 89,990.

The authorized distributor of Apple in Nepal, Genxt, had previously reduced the price of both the 64GB and 128GB models by Rs. 10,000 in June 2022. As a result, the prices of the 64GB and 128GB models dropped to Rs. 76,990 and Rs. 84,990, respectively. Now, the 64GB model is no longer available and the 128GB is Rs. 5,000 more expensive.

The Apple iPhone 11 is more of a successor to the iPhone XR than the iPhone XS. Compared to the Pro models, it has an inferior IPS LCD display instead of an OLED. It also does not have a telephoto lens.

However, the iPhone 11 is still a great phone thanks to a powerful chipset, great camera capabilities, and long battery life.

I still believe that, even with the price cut, the iPhone 11 is overpriced for a phone released in 2019. However, this is a great purchase for someone looking for an iPhone without spending over a lakh, if you don’t mind getting an older model.
