After a month since its unveiling at Apple’s first event of the year 2022, the Apple iPad Air 5 is finally available in Nepal. At the event, Apple introduced the new iPhone SE 2022, iPad Air 5, and Mac Studio.

The Apple iPad Air 5 price in Nepal is Rs. 99,000 for the 64GB Wi-Fi only variant and Rs. 1,19,000 for the 256GB Wi-Fi only variant. It is available for purchase at the Apple-authorized stores.

Apple iPad Air 5 Overview

Design

iPad Air 5 looks identical to the previous iPad Air. It’s big and the bezels are all pretty thin on all sides. The corners are rounded and have a very slim profile.

It comes in 5 colors: Space Gray, Pink, Purple, Blue, and Starlight.

The back has a single camera module just like the iPad Air 2020 and there’s a Touch ID on the top. Furthermore, it has 4 speakers and 2 microphone systems for clear audio.

Display

iPad Air 5 is still using the same 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display found on the iPad Air 4. It is a 60Hz display with a screen resolution of 2360×1640 at 264 PPI.

The display panel comes with a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, wide color gamut (P3), and True Tone. Apple also claims that iPad Air 5 has a max brightness of 500 nits.

Hardware

iPad Air 5 uses the Apple M1 chipset which employs Octa-core (4×2.5 GHz Vortex + 4×1.6 GHz Tempest) CPU and 8-core Apple GPU. For memory, it has 8GB RAM and 64/256GB internal storage.

This is a huge upgrade as the previous iPad Air came with Apple Bionic A14.

The new iPad Air comes with WiFi only or both WiFi and Cellular support. Matter of fact, it supports 5G (sub-6 GHz) connectivity as well. However, only the Wi-Fi variant is available in Nepal.

Furthermore, it supports one external display up to 6k 60Hz via the USB-Type C port.

Cameras

iPad Air 5 has the same 12MP main camera on the rear as the iPad Air 4.

On the front, it has an upgraded single 12MP Ultra-Wide camera. with Center Stage feature.

For videos, it can capture up to 4k 60fps from the rear camera and up to 1080p 60fps from the front camera.

Apple Pencil

iPad Air 5 supports the 2nd generation Apple Pencil but you will have to buy the pencil separately.

iPad Air 5 has a 28.65Wh battery. It is rated to provide up to 10 hours of battery life when watching videos or surfing the web.
